Office of Marketing and Communications

What We Do

The mission of the Office of Marketing and Communications is to elevate and protect the ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ brand, and inform and inspire the community through storytelling. We work to drive engagement between the university and key target audiences in this region and beyond.

Here are our goals:

  • Advance and protect the ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ brand
  • Tell the story of ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ (its students, research and community impact)
  • Leverage digital platforms to expand the reach of ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥
  • Incorporate visual storytelling to drive impact
  • Serve as campus expert in marketing and communications

Here's how we reach our goals:

  • Provide marketing, branding and editorial style guidance and templates
  • Produce and promote news and feature stories on multiple mediums
  • Produce high-quality, everlasting video and photo projects
  • Post strategically and frequently on social media, monitor analytics and make data-driven decisions
  • Manage e-newsletter and email marketing outreach
  • Support university development in advancing ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ through fundraising
  • Collaborate with campus communicators to advance the university's image
  • Serve as campus support for writing, digital marketing, photo and video needs

Key platforms we're responsible for:

  • The university's brand style guide
  • The university social media accounts: , , and
  • The monthly ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ newsletter, emailed to all alumni, donors and community members on the third Thursday of each month;
  • The university fact book
  • The ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ marquee on Stockdale Highway; read the process for submitting content to promote on the marquee

Public Information Officer

The public information officer is located in the President's Office. This role is responsible for media relations, internal communications, emergency communications, presidential communications and institutional writing.
