Title

T
hese items are recyclable at indoor and outdoor ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ Recycling Bins:

  • Aluminum Cans
  • Paper
  • Cardboard (Boxes must be broken down)
  • All rigid plastic containers marked #1 and #2
  • Plastic Waterbottles
  • Glass bottles

What is not recyclable:

  • Coffee Cups

Hot coffee cups are laminated with a plastic resin called polyethylene. This helps keep beverages warm and prevents leaking, but unfortunately this plastic keeps the otherwise paper cup from being recyclable.

  • Dirty Pizza Boxes

Pizza boxes are made from recyclable cardboard, however when the cardboard becomes soiled with grease, cheese and other foods, the pizza box can no longer be recycled. You may safely cut your pizza box in half and recycle the lid as long as there is no food waste on it.

  • Plastic Bags

Plastic bags are not accepted in campus or curbside recycling bins. You can donate your clean, good condition reusable plastic bags to the ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ Food Pantry.

  • Straws, plastic utensils

Small items such as these are not recyclable in campus or curbside recycling programs. Please toss these items in landfill bins and consider replacing them for reusable items.

For specific questions about recycling, please contact our Sustainability office at (661) 654-3552.
